1. Introduction
DayEnd is developed by Catnnect, Inc. This policy explains what data DayEnd collects, why, and who else handles it.
Effective date: October 11, 2026
2. Data We Collect and Store on Our Servers
- Email address: to sign you in and to send you the link to save your card.
- Payment information: managed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
- Nightly records: whether you handed over your phone each night, and any charge made.
- Security data: your IP address and sign-in information, used to verify it's you and prevent abuse.
- Commitment settings: your time window, daily amount, early-exit penalty (if you set one), and dates.
- Your agreement to the charge rules: which version of the rules you agreed to in the app, and when.
- Feedback you send: your message, which screen you sent it from, the app version and your phone's platform. If you are signed in, your email is attached so we can follow up.
- Your chats with Resi: what you type to Resi, so it can reply. We do not keep the text of your chats on our servers. We keep only a record of when chats happen and how much, to prevent abuse.
- Web sign-in: if you use DayEnd on the web, your browser remembers your sign-in for up to 30 days.
If you do not hand over your phone in time, we charge your saved card the daily amount you chose. If you do, we do not charge it. If you end a running plan early and set an early-exit penalty, we charge that penalty once.
3. Data That Stays on Your Phone
These are stored only on your device and are not sent to us: your answers to the daily questions and any notes you write, your app settings, and the list of apps you allow at night.
4. Device Permissions
- Notifications: to remind you when the hand-over window opens and to ask the morning question.
- Accessibility service (Android): DayEnd uses it to see which app is open, so it can block apps during your locked hours. If you turn on Web Lock, it also reads the website address in Chrome to check it against your list. It does not store or send that address. It reads nothing else on your screen.
- Screen Time (iOS): used to shield apps during your locked hours.
5. Third-Party Services
- Stripe: collects and stores your card and processes charges. See Stripe's privacy policy.
- Resend: delivers our emails to you.
- Google Cloud: hosts our servers and data (United States).
- Google (Gemini): writes Resi's replies. What you type to Resi is sent to Google for this purpose. Google does not use it to train its models.
We do not use advertising or analytics services, and we do not sell your data.
6. Who Can Use DayEnd
DayEnd involves payments and is intended for adults (18 and over). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
7. Your Rights and Deleting Your Account
Delete your account in the app: open DayEnd, go to Settings, and tap “Delete account”. You can also email [email protected] from the address you signed up with, and we will delete it for you. This works for web sign-ins too.
When your account is deleted:
- We delete your sign-in data, your plan and settings, your nightly hand-over records, and your saved card at Stripe.
- If one of your nights is still under appeal review when you delete your account, we keep your saved card at Stripe until we have decided on that night, and then delete it. Nothing is charged to it while the appeal is under review.
- We keep your charge records (the date, amount and result of each charge, together with your email) for refunds, disputes, accounting and tax.
- Feedback you sent is kept without your email.
- If a plan is still running, deleting your account ends it early, the same as ending it in the app: the early-exit penalty you set (if any) is charged once.
Deleting the app alone removes the data on your phone but not the data on our servers. You can also email us to request a copy of the data we hold about you.
8. Changes to This Policy
If there are significant changes to this policy, we will notify you through an app update or by email.
